This melt and pour soap recipe starts with goats milk melt and pour soap base which is very moisturizing for your skin. But, you could just as easily use a shea butter melt and pour base if you prefer.
How do you make poppy seed soap?
Because this is a melt and pour recipe, it’s as easy as melting the soap base in the microwave and adding the extra ingredients. Then, you just pour it into a mold and let it set.
Are poppy seeds good for your skin?
The seeds in this soap recipe are what make it exfoliating. They are rough and bumpy when you use the soap which is wonderful for your skin. Exfoliating is definitely good for your skin especially as you age because cell production slows down.
Can you use chia seeds in soap?
Yes, you can use chia seeds in this recipe instead of poppy seeds if you want to. They will help exfoliate your skin just as well as the poppy seeds do. Just use the same amount.
What about lemon poppy seed soap?
You can use this same recipe for lemon poppy seed soap by simply switching the peppermint essential oil for lemon essential oil. Or use lemongrass for a lemongrass poppy seed soap recipe. Or, why not try an orange poppy seed soap? The possibilities are endless.
How long does melt and pour soap last?
Melt and pour soap will last for one to two years in storage depending on how you store it. Don’t store it anywhere it will get damp from humidity. The best place to store it is somewhere cool and dry.
When you’re done using it, set it somewhere to dry. I like using a soap dish that’s raised so it doesn’t sit in the water until I use it next. This one is one of my favorite styles.
